"I am always submerged within the dysfunction of my society and what I surrounded with. It's how I view life in my perspective. It helps me think and question the unanswerable definition of carrying on with life on a daily basis. This series of artworks revolves around the political context in Singapore, taking advantage of the lion as a significant animal icon of Singapore, I've depict it as kings/politicians of it's kingdom, and the deer skull as the citizens, being harvest as a form of food/income for the rich to feed their stomach and wealthy living condition. A circle of life, a struggle. A ruling rule set to conquer the people from one generation to another, a monarchy."

Description: We constantly think of the current issues that affects our lives, or how we are inspired by it. But these issues will soon die out and will only reain as part of our history. As I question myself further than the norm, I began to ponder upon the beginning and ending of our lives. And hence, the Islamic beliefs in the day of judgement. Many of us tend to reconstruct the meaning of humanity and the social issues that bother us, but what I want people to think about is the future issue, things that has not happened but is already written in the Al-Quran. The 5 quotes (signs of judgement day) are written in graffiti calligraphy style, this is to symbolise the sense of illegibility yet it’s permanent, in short, we believe in day of recompense but we have little idea about it.

Inspired by the motion picture, Apocalypto, directed by Mel Gibson, the artworks will reflect the younger generation respecting their elderly and how precious they are in our lives before they are gone forever. A touch deeper than usual, deep into the human heart, of how we feel connected to our own flesh and blood. Even though, the rational of the story is based on an ancient plot, it can still be adapted in a modern context.
